CARNAVAL

CARNAVAL
Hi everyone !
Here we go for a new article ! Today we have to go to Avans university after one week vacation. What happened during this week ? Well during 4 days it was the carnaval in Breda. It was just amazing.
First we had to found a custome. I bought an integral costume of a lion and Fabien wore a costume of a power rangers, it was very funny.
Everyday during the afternoon there was a parade in the city and then when the sun went down, the city was transformed in a big party. Every people were dancing in the street, with a beer in their hands.
The music in Breda is very special, if you know Patrick Sébastion so you will understand the kind of music that we have heard everynight during the carnaval.
During two days I went with Lilian to Maastricht. We went there because Lilian’s best friend is studying there. So we took the train to get there.
It was also a very nice moment. Compared to Breda, the parties in Maastricht were also amazing. The streets were so crowded, the music was better than in Breda, it was electro and house music.
In general, we spent a very nice moment during the carnaval. All people were nice and welcoming.

THE DUTCH WAY OF LIFE
Today I would like to talk about the way of life in Netherlands. First, Dutch people are very welcoming. Despite the french reputation (concerning the drug traffic), we are well received when we meet people.
Then, they are more concerned about the respect of the environment than in France. There are also more rules who encourage people to have a green behavior. For example, when you buy water, soda or beer in a supermarket, you pay a deposit, and when you give back the bottle, you get back the deposit. Other example, the highway code makes easier travelling by bike. So there are a lot of bike on the road and in the city center, and have a bike is indispensable. The government takes steps to improve the behavior and Dutch people are very disciplined. But there is something which is strange. The use of helmet is not compulsory to ride a motobike. It is strange because there are a lot of rules concerning safety, and it’s allowed to ride a motorbike without helmet. So you can see a lot of people riding motorbike without helmet and the worse is when it is a child who is on the motobike without helmet.
Despite this, the Netherlands is a very nice country and a great place to live.
